TWO projects worth around K109 million aimed at reducing power disruptions are expected to be launched at Taraka and Yalu today.
This was announced yesterday by State Enterprises Minister William Duma.

Duma said both projects were to be funded by Kumul Consolidated Holdings (KCH), and that the Taraka Gensets cost around K29 million, while the Yalu Solar project cost K80 million.
“Both are funded by KCH but are owned by PNG Power Ltd,” he said.
“Lae residents can expect reduced power blackouts until the Ramu (Yonki) system comes back on with full energy output with the upgraded transmission lines from Singsing Creek down to Lae.”
