POLICE in the National Capital District (NCD) are urging residents of 4-Mile Works Compound to voluntarily vacate the area before a police-led eviction.
Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police for NCD and Central Benjamin Turi said the NCD Health Authority has issued a condemnation notice to the compound’s residents.
“Those who are looking after animals, like pigs, inside that yard are advised to remove them, or the NCDC enforcement team will move in and have them removed,”

Turi said police would move in to carry out evictions in line with directives from the Works and Highways Department.
He said police would begin awareness next week in the area as buildings have been condemned and there were numerous reports of criminal activities involving people living there.
He advised people who were occupying land without proper land titles and squatting on other people’s land to prepare for evictions.
Turi said his office was working closely with NCDC and other government departments to identify illegal settlements emerging around the city, so proper awareness could be conducted before evictions take place.
“When we allow people to be squatters in such areas, they move to the city without planning where to live,” he said.
“When they arrive in the city, they look for free land to reside on and engage in illegal activities like vending in undesignated areas, loitering, and many other unlawful actions that create more work for the police, who are supposed to concentrate on investigating other crimes.”
Bad navigation is an especially common problem. We’ve all struggled to find things on disorganized websites without any logical structure. It feels hopeless.
In design, rhythm is created by simply repeating elements in predictable patterns. This repetition is a natural thing that occurs everywhere in our world. As people, we are driven everyday by predictable, timed events.
